Grandson Second Wrestling Meet

First of all, I hate to say or brag... HE DID IT AGAIN!!! And yes, it keeps getting better.

First, Pinned
Second, Pinned
Third, Lost by points.. uhmmm 16-0

But he did it!!! YAY!!

I could NOT sleep for anything last night. I don't know if it was because I drank a can of Coca-Cola, or I was anxious or anticipated the meet for Grandson. I dunno, but I finally fell asleep around 2:30 am. We got up at 4:00 am.

Why so early?? It's about 2-3 hr. drive. And with the road condition, and we are quite clueless where the High School is, so best we take off early. And since, I'm Mz. Leisure I took care of all of the morning chores, made sure everything is a done deal and drove to location.

Grandson, I don't know when he finally fell asleep, maybe around 11pm. I let him extend his nap to 5 hrs yesterday afternoon. Not a good idea, you think? Yah, let's not do that again.

At the wrestling, he went in and pinned the kids without hesitation. Second to third was a LONG wait... He started to fall asleep in my arms.. and I tried to keep him awake.. even let him walk around or play with the other kids, he kept coming back and wanting to sit on my lap so he can nap. By the time he was up he was lazy and tired. He got pushed around, drugged around, and what have you.. But he didn't get pinned. He lost by points, he didn't wrestled he just kept himself from being pinned. Still in my eyes, it's good enough.

While we were waiting for Grandpa to finish with his work as coaching, we went for a walk (time to take pictures for me). Well, he decided to run with the boys outside, and KAPUFF!! He plowed the concrete with his face..so now he is a site to see. That was the downside to this afternoon, other than that.. Grandson got a lot of hugs, and high fives.

This picture is actually near Mancos, CO. It's not near Dove Creek, UT. We call it JOE DIRT Arrows.

Dove Creek is a place where, I think, they produced MEGA pinto beans. A very small town. The modern stores are prolly just Ace Hardware and the local gas station. The houses are small, not just small, I mean SMALL SMALL.. Sweetie and I joked around how they probably cost about 500k for a two bdrm and half potty room..

Lemme tell ya about this town when I was a kid-roo.. I remember we were going back to Nucla, or Naturita (Naughty Rita) when my father worked in the mine. It was just my mom and us kids.. I was sitting in the back of the truck with 'relatives'. A man, a drunk man apparently homeless, came over and begged my mom for money at the old gas station. He said (Of course, spoken in Navajo) "Shi Ma, please can you spare a few dollars?" and after so long of No's, he says "Why, Shi Ma, would you finally try to offer something at my funeral when I die? When I die, you will be crying. Save the grief now, and gimme something. Shi Ma, I might die today, maybe tomorrow, we never know when we are gonna die. Please, can I have some money??" DID it WORK?? Yep! My mom gave him some money. So, yeah.. I remember that town by that scenerio. And yeah, he did eventually died of alcoholism back in the 70's.

This afternoon, I was Ms. Cranky Pants, and I was visited by the Angels of Patience... You know, when nothing is going right, and you get flustered?? On top of that it just ain 't getting better?? Well, I use to get O' fired up and say Fuk IT!! and leave it alone.. Now, I just smile and try it again.. Test of Patience is what I call it. I believe there is a reason for everything we do.. I really do, or maybe that's just what you call "Maturing". Doh!
