This is the house I was talking about yesterday.
The other side of Shiprock (Tsi Bit Ai).
Grandson in the door way for men's Hogan.
Old time Hogan.
Modern Rezer. At least she's still keeping it real.
This morning O hubby was on his way out the door when he gave me a big hug. Without thinking I asked if we could go with him. And there we went like brats, right out of bed into the truck. My hair was still bushy and standing up. Grandson's mouth was still circled with milk. We just put our socks and shoes on and left. Are we awful or what?
There are times when I see my husband walking out that door, I see him tired, overheated, and prolly wondered what he got himself into when he married me. When he could have continued living single and free. I want to help him support our family. I want to give him a helping hand. I know I can do it, not as strong, but I'm a damn good helper. That's the best I can do, is help him and make him laugh when times need it. I like to be there for him when things get a bit too much for him, and just give a listening ear. Aii, there's times when he just needs a good yelling at..
Today's run was suppose to be real simple. We got to Red Mesa get a contract signed, then on to Kayenta and get a repair... now this is where it screwed it all up.. the mother gave the car keys to her son to give to us, well he wasn't there.. he decided he'd go somewhere else.. well the papa didn't show up until hrs later, and he wasn't too happy about it. The momma?? She played dumb. After that we made a Collection Visit.. this is where people wanna hide and pretend they are not who we're looking for. With a little encouragement, we all got an agreement going. Let's see how that goes.
Ai! I got my frybread!! O YUM!!! Even Grandson was stingy with his.. and he's only four, but he knows how to hang on to his food. LOL!! On the way out of Shiprock we had grilled tortilla, with strips of roasted mutton and green chili. Mm Mmmm!! Yeah, we had all Navajo cookin going on..
We stopped at Burgar King, they have a small museum about Navajos. We just went there to unnumb our butts. Sitting there can be unnerving, really. We strolled around and found out the Shade House is a Gift Shop. I was like a real dumb of us three... I sez "O, looky here.. a gift shop!" Hubby sez, "It sez it's a Gift Shop outside." Doh.. In there I found a cute little pottery, so cute. After hubby got a hold of it, he said it felt like plastic. Without him seeing, I wrapped my tongue around it.... he he he, GROSS!!! and yep it was plastic. Shhhh.. don't tell him that I was licking stuff that MAYBE millions of people with dirty fingers touched it.. maybe their little paws dug around inside their nose or scratched their behinds. YUCK!! Now that's just plain nasty!!!
On the way home we all talked about how we're gonna have our dinner. Outside around the fire we shall roast Hotdogs and have marshymallow on a stick.. all sounded good, until we got home. We're too tired.. I opted to shower.. ahem.. you'd think I'd need it.. And I took off to the local Super (Superless) Market and went mini shopping. I sure felt like a Trailer Court Trash, I was wearing floppys, short pants, and a stained white t-shirt with my hair wet. Limping ... People look when you pass them by.. I ran my fingers through my hair when I realized I prolly looked like a greaser.. I can't shake my hair good, I get dizzy and start bumping into things, sometimes I fall over.. Now, I'm not trying to go to jail for being dumb. So, back to concentrating on shopping, I can't have ADHD attack and come home without dinner... maybe just a jar of pickles.. that's what I had when I started thinking.
Ai, I made it home.. I love listening to loud music in my car or truck.. and speeding (within reasonable rate of speed -cough-).. I came around the corner and popped my gears in nuetral.. well Hubby came out to meet me and said he saw me swerving around the corner with loud music.. I smiles.. he gives me hugz.. and he cooks dinner.. Now, here I am.. and he's working out.. soon in a few minutes, IT'S OFF TO BED.. yayyyy!
