So today O Hubby calls me and asks if I would like to go to Many Farms with him. What a D'light! I am dying to go for a ride. Not the local area but way, far away from home.
I jump at this opportunity and grabbed my camera. Now, it's been months since I have been able to get a good picture of Shiprock itself. Aii, there it is.. Finally!!
Since I was the driver, and they were the snoozers, I get to pull over and la de dah whenever and wherever I wanted to. But I only stopped here to take this picture. I drove the right speed limit and became law abiding citizen. Yep! When I drive something that don't belong, I am the best driver there is! I am at my UTMOST best behavior on the road. Did I ever mention, in my whole so many years, I have only gotten ONE ticket, and it got dismissed? Yep, that's right! Yeah, I gotta a halo now.. with a big head.
This morning, O ho ho ho.. you had to be there... there was a red eclipse in front of me.. Boring.. When we all reach the freeway, I seen it take off. I waited for a car to go by before I took off to town. I saw them accelerate and I give the evil grin and pump it up to 85 and they are still pushing.. I smack it to 100.. I am catching up.. I slap it harder and hit 120, and I pass them.. O WHAT A FEELING!! I hadn't had one of those since the GT.. and I kept going.. and it just kept getting better..and faster.. When I looked back they were 3 cars length behind and slowed down.. My six banger beat an Eclipse... wow.
Back to the trip. We went up and over the Mountain to Many Farms, Arizona. The mountain (Red Valley) is my kiddie stompin ground. This is where my whole life of adventure was taken placed. I played out my little scenerios, hunted, did farming, hung out with new friends, relatives, everything.. this is the place. The place is like John Cougar Mellencamp's song "Cherry Bomb". This is the place. Although many are gone.. my heart still lives there when I see it. Makes me happy and proud to be who I am. ALSO, I am so glad the trees are coming back.. see the baby trees? That's like my life starting all over, just by seeing those.
Heck, when we got to Many Farms, I sure thought that was the end of the ride and return home. NAh, nah nah.. we had many stops along the way. No problem, I took pictures of this and that. Made deals with people about buying jewelries for Grandson. In fact, I can't wait to see them.. His very first Navajo Bling-bling. I'm gonna buy him a pendleton blanket too.. and have someone make Navajo Outfit for him.. I might just have him learn to dance the Gourd Dance and sing. He is picking up Navajo language fast. WHY NOT??
It is nice there, in that general area. Well, over the mountain is like a whole new area and the scenery is breathtaking. I think it's beautiful, you could spend a whole day hiking and just endure the moments. Had you have nothing to do, but screw around like me. Only, I'm such a retard now, with my luck I'll fall and would have a big scene, best I stay home. Close to the Fire station. hah.
On the way home I saw a old abandoned house on the side of a bluff and down below was a dried up creek. I excitedly yelled "HEY! There's an old house on the edge of that creek!" O Hubby tells me he knows.. Hello, it's like... always been there, obvious!.. No, he doesn't talk to me like that, but he said he knew it was there. And there's many more of them. I told him I would like to check them out and take pictures of them. Why not?
I got to thinking how when we are young we don't even stop to think about the safety of our surrounding, we just go out and do what we want. Now, the top priority is.. Hmmmm.. is it safe? gross.. dirty.. how far?? water? Huh? When? I look in the areas that use to look like playgrounds, where I've become surefooted and the worst daredevil.. Now, I'm like.. egh, old fart.. let's move it. I tell my shadow to go first.. even that doesn't wanna move.. hmph.
After we left the junction, I woke up in Sweetwater. Then we headed for home, after we ate at Denny's. At Denny's we saw Skylar Wolf. He's a musician, they were passing by, coming from Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, NM.. Hubby got to chat with him, they were on their way to Oglala, South Dakota. I really don't know what they chatted about, grandson was demanding attention.
Going to bed now.. Good night.. thankfully!
